How gardening can help you to bond with your child

Nowadays it is sad to see people mistreating the environment. Most people take our planet for granted not realising how precious it actualy is. We realise that to truly reach this goal we must pass this information onto the children, as they are the future. Gardening is where kids love to get stuck in getting messy and having fun. Plus they are learning and out in the fresh air. Here are some benefits gardening provides for children.

Science
Science teaches abut life cycle of all living beings and the effect, which human intervention in the process might have. Through Gardening Kids get all the theory into practice and get to the point where they understand great how life functions. The experience is very enjoyable to them because it feeds their curiosity and hunger for understanding the world we live in.
We live in a world with tangible environmental problems, and it is pity that sometimes we seem to neglect this reality. One efficient way to help nature find its balance again is to teach our children to understand and respect the world we live in. This is an easy to fulfil task, because of their open clear minds and life curiosity. A good place to start from is engaging them in some gardening.

Life
Observing life growth, how it evolves from a small seed to a mature plant is an amazing experience, which helps children fall in love with gardening. It is also a great way for them to learn the circle of life and all the stages it goes trough. Growing a plant makes them realise, that every living being has some necessities plants need air, water, soil and sunlight and humans need air, water, food and shelter. Part of the process of growing a plant is to weed out, and this gives a great opportunity to teach them that bed influences in life are just as bad as weeds and they should be rooted out as well in order for every day life to go smooth and happy.

Relaxation
It has been proven for a fact, that gardening is a great stress fighter, because it brings calmness to the mind. Kids, who originate from homes with domestic problems, go through it as a therapy, which helps them to see how they could create something and this makes them develop a good self-esteem. Gardening stimulates all the fife senses and this is another reason to involve your children into an activity like that.

Quality Time with the Family
You can forget about your stressful work life for a while be soothed by the lovely ambience in the garden. You can play and spend quality time with your children. You can talk while watering the plants or you can work quietly beside each other. The bottom line is, always do what you have to do, together with your kids. You might discover a lot of new things about your child while mingling with them in your garden.

Let kids become aware of their environments needs. And one way to jumpstart that environmental education may be through gardening. Its killing two birds with one stone teaching them to respect life while you bond with them.
